About the Shop
`twentythreeSHOP was born in the summer of 2006 following the designer's first try at making handmade accessories. Seeing a possible market for her little hobby, she geared the shop towards teenagers and young college students who are in search of unique and novel products. Initial sales were done at SOOMPI.COM’s selling/trading threads with further expansion to a LIVEJOURNAL.COM powered selling journal in the next autumn season. We believe in the unique soul, that each one deserved to showcase their individuality. Our collections focus on the unexpected, the elegant yet surprising style..
The SHOP is based in Chino, California.
About the Designer
Viel Catig or miss manderley as she likes to be called is a twenty something young professional whose day job involves the graveyard shift and stethoscopes. This venture is her excuse to be artistic, a chance to flex her creative muscles. Her love affair with earrings began in 2004 when by chance her sister bought her a pair of chandelier earrings at a local department store. The rest they say is history, as her love for earrings grew more and more each year.
She began creating her own pieces in the summer of 2006 following a vacation to Manila. Using beads and pearls imported from the Philippines and other Asian countries, one of a kind designs were created that were cute,colorful, bubbly yet classy for the DIY generation.
